About Exam

SAT Exam is one of the most popular and widely accepted assessments among Nepalese students planning to take undergraduate courses abroad. Since 2001, the College Board has conducted and administered the SAT Exam in Nepal. The SAT exam is generally divided into two parts – the General Test and the Subject Test. The test is entirely paper-based and is scored on a maximum of 2400. SAT I scores cannot guarantee admission into a school – it is only one of the major factors considered in the long process of getting an applicant admitted to the graduate program of their choice.

Score Pattern

SAT reading, mathematics, and writing sections will each be scored on a 200–800-point scale, for a possible total of 2400. You’ll also get two “sub scores” on writing: a multiple-choice score from 20 to 80, and an essay score between 2 and 12. A composite SAT score ranges from 400 to 1600 and is a sum of the Evidence-based Reading and Writing score (200-800) and Math score (200-800). If you opt to attempt the Essay section, the overall test duration is 4 hours, 5 minutes with breaks.

Test Structure

SAT test sections include Math, Evidence-Based Reading, and Writing. In addition, a 50-minute essay is optional, and a total of three hours and 50 minutes is allotted to the essay. This table outlines the breakdown of each remaining section.
